Opening in January 2017 Taisteal is the latest venture from Michelin-trained chef Gordon Craig. Taisteal, meaning journey or to travel, will present dishes using the best local Scottish produce combined with elements from around the world.
After successfully establishing Field, and Field Grill House, over the past 4 years, Gordon is branching out on his own with a concept that he has been developing for several years. Inspired by his own travels abroad and recipes from around the world, Gordon hopes to bring some of these flavours and techniques to his new Stockbridge restaurant. Having trained in some of the UKs best restaurants, including the 3 Michelin-starred Waterside Inn, The Peat Inn and The Plumed Horse, Gordon hopes to create a restaurant that is accessible and attractive to all. Gordon has always had a passion for food but honed his skills whilst working under the direction of Roux Brothers in London. Taisteal will take elements of fine dining and present them in a more relaxed environment. The menu will be complemented by an extensive wine list, and a selection of classic and contemporary cocktails.
In the kitchen Gordon is supported by Daniel 'Sid' James, who has worked with Gordon for 3 years since leaving college. The Front of House is managed by Craig Brown, who has worked in the hospitality industry for over 40 years.
